Maison Perrotte awarded the Eco-Défis 2025 label: a concrete & measurable commitment

This year, Maison Perrotte is one of 25 new companies to have been awarded the Eco-Défis label.

Created in 2017, the Eco-Défis scheme rewards craftsmen who implement real, monitored and measurable actions to protect the environment.

The principle?

Support companies in the continuous improvement of their practices, based on a precise diagnosis: waste, packaging, energy, transport, water, products, societal & sustainable.

To earn the label, you need to choose at least 3 new challenges in at least 2 different themes. The label is valid for 1 year, and each year a new challenge must be added to renew the label.

The 3 Eco-Défis 2024 challenges chosen by Maison Perrotte

Challenge no. 1: Reduce one of the main waste products

Label roll glassines and cores are now recovered, sorted and recycled by local printer Pyramidor in Brissac (≈ 200 kg/year avoided).

Challenge 2: Use energy-efficient equipment

Installation of LED lighting (in line with the existing energy plan).

Challenge no. 3 - Plant, maintain & cohabit with flora and fauna

Planting of 80 fruit trees (10 more to come), mulched & maintained by a landscape gardener, on the Fosse-Sèche wine estate (biodynamic).

Strong actions already in place on a daily basis

Maison Perrotte isn't "just" about these 3 challenges.

The figures from the 2024 diagnostic speak for themselves: 86% overall performance.

A few highlights:

  • bio-waste is recycled (apricots & citrus fruits given to other craftsmen / hens)
  • local, recycled & customized packaging to limit volumes
  • energy optimization + consumption monitoring
  • pooling of resources (pallet wood donated to winegrowers, locally sewn textile charlottes, etc.).
  • Marie-Augustine" project to revalue 8-10% of fruit destined for supermarket jams
  • transmission: courses, meetings, federation of jam makers initiated by Maison Perrotte
  • patronage: participation in the Bioparc project €5,000/year for 3 years

Why does this label count?

Beyond recognition, Eco-Défis offers :

  • better cost control a consistent, clear image with customers
  • sincere integration of the environment into the business
  • increased local visibility
  • It's certified proof that impact isn't just talk, but a series of concrete actions.

What's next?

Maison Perrotte continues to move forward: new stages, new building, new capacities, product innovation & strong values that are not negotiable.

Culinary excellence can, and must, be sustainable.

"We transform the best the earth has to offer, with respect, high standards and meaning."
