Black Friday at Maison Perrotte

Why isn't Maison Perrotte taking part in Black Friday?

Black Friday is a must-attend shopping event, and every year sees a wave of spectacular discounts that encourage over-consumption. Yet at Maison Perrotte, we've chosen not to participate in this phenomenon, and here's why.

Black Friday, a practice we find hypocritical

One of the things we find most disturbing about Black Friday is the sense of deception it can leave in consumers' minds.

How can you offer discounts of 10%, 20% or even 50% on certain products while complying with legislation banning sales at a loss in France?

This practice raises a fundamental question: if such reductions are possible, does this mean that regular prices are artificially inflated throughout the year? We reject this logic.

At Maison Perrotte, our commitment is clear: we apply fair prices all year round.

Our products, whether artisan jams or spreads, are priced to reflect the real value of the work behind each jar. The aim is not to make excessive margins and then sell off the products during a specific period.

Fair prices for our producers

A fair price is above all a question of respect. Respect for the growers who supply us with exceptional fruit.

At Maison Perrotte, we ensure that our suppliers are properly remunerated for their work. Enabling them to make a decent living from their work is a fundamental principle that guides our every action. They should not have to depend on aid or subsidies to make ends meet.

Buying from Maison Perrotte means supporting an ethical, local and sustainable production chain.

The impact of production choices on our prices

Like others, we could reduce our costs by opting for cheap packaging produced thousands of kilometers away, often under dubious human and environmental conditions.

But that's not our philosophy. At Maison Perrotte, we work with local partners such as Pyramidor, a nearby SME, which makes all our packaging from recycled and recyclable materials.

These choices have a cost, of course, but they are part of our commitment to responsible production. We apply the same approach to our delivery cartons, designed by another local SME, Huteau, less than 30 minutes from our workshop. These decisions enable us to reduce our carbon footprint and promote the local economy, while guaranteeing environmentally-friendly packaging.

A responsible, year-round approach

In short, we don't participate in Black Friday because we refuse to distort the consumer's perception of product value. At Maison Perrotte, we believe that reasoned and ethical consumption requires transparent and fair prices, not aggressive promotions.

Opting for our products means choosing to support a local, sustainable economic model that respects producers, the environment and, of course, consumers. We believe that quality, humanity and environmental responsibility should not be sacrificed for temporary discounts.

That's why our prices remain the same all year round: fair, honest and sustainable.
